As the former Director of Regulatory Economics & Research at Ghana’s Public Utilities Regulatory Commission, he led the development of economic guidelines and regulatory frameworks for natural gas, electricity, and water utilities. Dr. Akorli specializes in designing econometric models for rate setting, balancing stakeholder interests with pricing fairness. His expertise spans utility performance benchmarking, tariff determination methodologies, and policy formulation for competitive energy markets. He e served as Technical Advisor to Ghana’s Energy Sector Recovery Programme, leading the development and implementation of economic models and providing capacity development to utilities on tariff preparation.
