Ron Hamilton is a senior risk, governance, and compliance leader with more than 25 years of experience across global financial services, insurance, and reinsurance. He currently serves as Head of Risk and Compliance at BMS Re, where he is leading the build out of an integrated risk and governance framework for a growing international reinsurance intermediary.
Ron has held senior leadership roles at Swiss Re and other global institutions, with deep expertise spanning enterprise risk management, regulatory engagement, board governance, and operational resilience. His work consistently sits at the intersection of strategy, risk, and people, helping organizations translate complexity into clear decisions and sustainable growth.
Beyond his executive role, Ron is an active board member and governance leader. He serves as a Director at the Bermuda Monetary Authority, Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and Chair of a federally chartered credit union. He is also a NACD Directorship Certified board leader and a trusted advisor to executives navigating regulatory change, transformation, and culture.
Ron is deeply committed to leadership development, inclusion, and service. He is the founder of the Ron C. HOPE Fellowship at the University at Buffalo School of Management and is actively involved in global leadership and education initiatives across Africa, Europe, and North America.
