Prof. Mathew Tsamenyi is a globally recognized academic leader and business strategist with over 15 years of experience in executive education, research, and consulting. As President and CEO of Nova Business School Africa, Prof. Tsamenyi brings a wealth of expertise from his decade long tenure as Executive Director at CEIBS Africa and Professor of Management Practice in Accounting at CEIBS. He has also held faculty positions at leading institutions, including the University of Birmingham, University of Sheffield, and City University of Hong Kong. Â
Prof. Tsamenyi’s academic contributions include co-founding the Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies and serving on the editorial boards of prestigious journals such as the Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal (AAAJ). He currently serves as the President of the Institute of Sustainability Professionals Ghana (ISPG) and was a former President of both the African Accounting and Finance Association (AAFA) and the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) Special Interest Group on Emerging Economies. As a consultant, he has worked with prominent organizations, including the African Development Bank, UNCTAD, and the Central Bank of Rwanda, focusing on financial analysis, management control systems, and performance management.Â
With research funded by organizations like the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Nuffield Foundation, Prof. Tsamenyi has made significant contributions to understanding cost management and financial controls in emerging markets.
