Dr. Anderson Uvie-Emegbo is a transformational executive educator, board advisor, leadership coach, and author whose work has supported leaders and organizations across more than 80 countries.
He serves as Vice President, Academic Director, and Chief Operating Officer of Nova Business School Africa, where he leads institutional strategy and designs learning environments that cultivate leaders who think deeply, act with integrity, and build with courage. His work spans executive education, executive and leadership coaching, entrepreneurship, and advisory programmes – translating rigorous thinking into practical real-world outcomes for founders, executives, and institutions across Africa.
Dr. Anderson’s professional journey moves through medicine, digital transformation, business strategy, and institution-building. His early practice in medicine – delivering babies, performing surgical procedures, and running a private clinic – shaped a leadership philosophy that is human-centered, decisive under pressure, and deeply attentive to context.
Before joining Nova, he was a Senior Executive Fellow at CEIBS Africa, teaching executives in strategy, innovation, leadership, digital transformation, and doing business in Africa. He has also served as faculty at Strathmore Business School (Kenya), Lagos Business School (Nigeria), Pan-Atlantic University, and Global Banking School (UK). Dr. Anderson has worked with leaders and organisations in telecommunications, FMCG, banking, insurance, pensions, education, manufacturing, hospitality, aviation, healthcare, technology, energy, retail, fashion, food, agriculture, real estate, professional services and the public sector.
At Nova, Dr. Anderson often functions as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence, working inside participant businesses to support strategic clarity, operational discipline, and execution – helping translate learning into measurable enterprise outcomes.
He is a Global Executive Coach and Board Adviser, working with senior executives, founders, and public-sector institutions on leadership effectiveness and transformation. He is a Certified Professional Coach and an Emotional & Social Competency Inventory (ESCI) Assessor and has served as Chair of the Africa Advisory Council of the International News Media Association (INMA).
Dr. Anderson is also an author, exploring themes of identity, healing, courage, and legacy through two books: The Gift: The Story I Was Once Afraid to Tell and What Matters to Me Now: 50 Life Lessons on Identity, Healing, Courage, Becoming, and Legacy.
He holds an MBA with Distinction (University of Cumbria), an MSc in Global Management (University of Salford), a Postgraduate Diploma in Leading Innovation and Change (York St John’s University), and a degree in Medicine and Surgery (Obafemi Awolowo University). He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) and an alumnus of IESE Business School and Lagos Business School.
