Bio

Blessing Abeng is a branding and communications expert dedicated to helping brands identify and communicate their unique identity and tell better stories. She builds brand and communication strategies around products, services, growth, and sales to help brands communicate with their team, target audience, partners, and investors. 

She has worked with brands across industries in unique capacities, nationally and globally, including Seedstars, Facebook, Heritage Bank, African Alliance, Dark and Lovely (Nigeria and Africa), Bolt, Alomo Bitters, GSK, Lights Camera Africa, QuickCheck and so many others. She was also one of the Co-Director of Startup Grind Lagos, building a vibrant community of over 10,000 entrepreneurs in Lagos. 

As the Co-founder and Director of Communications at Ingressive for Good, she drove the mission of the edtech nonprofit to create and increase the earning power of African youth through tech training and resources for the growth of the African startup ecosystems. In three years, Blessing led the growth of Ingressive For Good from 0 to 250,000 community members, training over 100,000, placing thousands in jobs, and exclusively leading multiple cohorts of women-focused tech training, attracting partners and supporters like Coursera, DataCamp, Facebook, Figma, Alphabet, and a host of others. Through this initiative, she has played a pivotal role in uplifting countless lives and fostering a generation of skilled and empowered individuals. 

Prior to her impactful work with Ingressive for Good, Blessing co-founded Disha, a visionary tech startup that caught the attention of an African Unicorn, Flutterwave, leading to a successful acquisition. Her expertise and ingenuity as the former CMO of Disha contributed significantly to its growth and success, leaving a lasting impact on the tech landscape in Africa. 

Blessing’s skills and clear vision make her a valuable ecosystem leader and this has led her to wear hats that are value-driven in nature. She has also mentored youths in communities like She Leads Africa, Seedstars, African Entrepreneurship Awards, amongst others. She has trained thousands of creators in branding, communications, and business growth. She currently curates and nurtures a growing community of over 50,000 individuals all over the world, inspired by her strides and her consistent knowledge-sharing channels. Her ideas, thoughts, and actions are valued on a national and global front. It is no surprise she has been invited multiple times to speak at Silicon Valley, about Communications in Africa, the African Tech Ecosystem, and stir global investors to Africa while inspiring them to invest in Africa and African brands. 

Among her impressive achievements, she has been honored with various awards, including being recognized as a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, listed among the UN 100 Most Influential People of African Descent, and acknowledged as one of Nigeria’s 100 most powerful youths by YNaija. Furthermore, she has been celebrated at the UK Africa Achievers Awards and received several other prestigious accolades.

As a dynamic female youth entrepreneur, Blessing brings invaluable perspective to Nova Business School Africa’s International Advisory Board while embodying the core mission of the Centre for Women, Entrepreneurship and Youth through her proven track record of empowering African youth and women in technology and business.
