Launching in Q3 2025, the Metropolitan School of Hospitality (MSH) is a specialised centre under Nova Business School Africa focused on advancing hospitality education and workforce development in West Africa. Based within the iconic Metropolitan Hotel in Calabar, MSH is Nigeria’s first hospitality training hub embedded in a fully operational hotel, offering immersive, hands-on learning in real-world industry settings.
MSH was created to close the skills gap in the hospitality, tourism, and events sectors—particularly for underserved youth and professionals from Nigeria’s South-South and South-East regions. The Centre delivers certificate programmes, seasonal bootcamps, and short executive courses tailored to equip participants with practical skills for entry-level, supervisory, and leadership roles. By combining global standards with local relevance, MSH enables employment, entrepreneurship, and career progression across the experience economy.
MSH focuses on real-world training in hospitality, tourism, and event management, offering industry-aligned programmes in Culinary Arts, Housekeeping, Hotel Operations, and more. It also runs short executive courses for professionals, bootcamps linked to major events like the Calabar Carnival, and talent development initiatives for underserved youth and professionals.
Our vision is to become West Africa’s leading centre for practical hospitality training—developing a new generation of professionals who serve with excellence, lead with confidence, and drive inclusive growth in the experience economy.
