Prof. Robbie Wilson is an internationally recognised expert in Performance Science, currently based at the University of Queensland, where he has held a professorial position since 2019. With over 150 peer-reviewed publications – including in world-leading journals like Nature – he brings a rigorous, interdisciplinary approach to data-driven decision-making in sport and performance contexts. A multiple award-winning educator and researcher, he is also the CEO of Wilson Football Science, a consultancy dedicated to transforming football talent identification and development through scientific innovation.
Prof. Wilson’s academic journey includes postdoctoral roles in Europe and Australia, prestigious fellowships from the Royal Society UK and the Australian Research Council, and leadership of multimillion-dollar research programmes. His current focus is the application of cutting-edge performance analytics to sports, particularly youth football. His work is known for removing bias and enhancing player cognition and skill identification, which makes him a trusted partner to elite football academies, agents, and coaches globally.
